The Full Story
Originally formed as Cwienkala and Salfi, the firm was the merger of two independently thriving
businesses back in 1999. Steven Cwienkala brought over 40 years of accounting and financial
planning as a CPA, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).
Eric Salfi imparted over 20 years of accounting, auditing and tax consulting services. When
Steven retired just a few years ago, Eric decided to continue his entrepreneurial venture with a
simple name change. Today, E.M. Salfi, CPAs provides a wide array of accounting and tax
preparation services to over 1,500 individuals and 175 corporate customers. The firm continues
to focus on offering individualized and personal service to clients in the Philadelphia,
Montgomery, Bucks and Delaware Valley counties.
The firm is a proud member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
(AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, (PICPA).​

Meet Eric Salfi, CPA
Upon graduating from Temple University, Eric Salfi began his accounting career as a senior accountant with the accounting firm McCulley, Brennan, & Mahoney, CPAs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His responsibilities included tax preparation, financial auditing, and reporting services for the firm. He also assisted in the creation of the firm’s accounting technology department, where he helped analyze and convert clients’ manual accounting operations to automated systems to improve workflow and operating efficiency.
In 1995, Eric became the controller for a large construction company in the Philadelphia area, where he handled all accounting and banking activities, as well as financial decision-making. It was during this period that the company recorded its most profitable term in its history.
Despite his success in the corporate world, Eric decided to found his own public accounting and tax practice in 1997 in Montgomery County, PA. Always an entrepreneur at heart, Eric continues to build on his passion and commitment to helping families and businesses grow and prosper.
